Erick Kapaito put Kariobangi in front on the 22nd minute but Lawrence Juma was quick to silence the visitors after he levelled the scores five minutes later.
Kahata added a second late onto the first half to give Oktay a fourth win in five matches in the Kenya Premier League.
K'Ogalo, who were dominant throughout the opening 45 minutes were kept out from increasing their lead in the second half after some fine saves from Sharks stopper to end the match 2-1.

Sharks sit fifth with 29 points in the league standings.
K'ogalo will travels to face Sony Sugar in the league on Wednesday while Kariobangi Sharks host Zoo Kericho the same day.
