A Gusii based local politician has claimed that elected leaders from the region are sleeping on their legislative roles.
Rachael Otundo who doubles as the Gusii Governance Watch secretary general, said the Gusii community has nothing to celebrate about the current leaders.
"The electorates have nothing to smile about because the current leaders who were elected during the last year's polls are sleeping on their job. We won't expect any development since the leaders have prioritized their big stomachs," she noted.
Mrs Otundo regretted that the Gusii community is under-represented at the national level.
She called on the Gusii community not to be tricked in 2022 to re-elect the leaders who are in office currently.
"The same mistake should not happen in 2022. The current leaders must be shown the door. We must have serious and dedicated leaders to represent our people for the sake of realizing development in the entire Gusii region," she added.
According to her, none of the current elected leaders should be trusted since everyone is after filling his or her stomach by embezzling public funds.
