Kitui South MP Rachel Kaki Nyamai has urged the Jubilee government to offer state jobs to Ukambani politicians who lost in the 2017 election on the party's ticket.
Nyamai defended the 'losers' stating they sold the party making President Uhuru Kenyatta get more votes than ever from the region despite harsh criticism by other parties' leaders and supporters.
She spoke at Ngunga Catholic Church in Matungulu, Machakos County on Sunday.
She was addressing Deputy President William Ruto who was present at the function.
"These people 'bwana' DP moved up and down, went far and East to ensure Jubilee takes root in Ukambani. I can assure you it was never an easy job but they tried, although they didn't manage to bag the seats," Nyamai said.
"The government should at least reap their loyalty and efforts by offering them jobs," she added.
Nyamai made the sentiments as she paraded former Jubilee 2017 parliamentary elections candidates for Kangundo and Matungulu, Rose Ndinda and Tom Musau respectively.
In the event, even the Wiper party wasn't left behind where some of the leaders present requested the DP to consider giving jobs to several people from the party.
"We are now one family. In the appointments, at least take some of our people too so that they can feel sweetness of working with the government," Machakos County Assembly's Majority Leader Mark Muendo said.
