The authority has ordered for the revocation of licenses of 51 driving schools across the country after the validation exercise kicked off in April.

Confirming the revocation of the licenses, NTSA Director-General Francis Meja on Thursday said that the authority will not tolerate managements that are not ready to comply with the requirements.

He noted that the affected schools are located in different places including Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa and Machakos.

The other counties affected included Kiambu, Bungoma, Murang’a, Eldoret, Marsabit, Embu, Kisii, Kisumu Kakamega, Meru, Garissa and Thika among others.

He noted that the compliance documents must be submitted before a school can offer services to students who want to pursue their careers in the same field.

“The authority has revoked their licenses and deactivated their access to the NTSA Driving School Portal,” Mr Meja said, as quoted by Daily Nation.

The move was reached as part of the programme to do away with schools that have been operating illegally. The authority has promised to continue dealing with all schools that will fail to comply with the requirements.

Students with licenses from the deregistered schools will not be eligible to present them for employment until they prove otherwise.
