A future of smart cities will not only affect our working practices, but it will probably change the way we think.
ISO has a crucial role to play in fostering harmonization in city landscape planning which sets out the requirements of good industry practices for the painting of low and high rise buildings, excluding specialized buildings.
The harmony and consistency of color creates and identifies the local people with the same preoccupations, expressions, and gestures.
Many coastal cities around the World today recognizes this standard and the local councils have adopted a color scheme for local buildings to identify the culture and blend with the local landscape.
Mombasa County therefore have embarked on a framework to be the part of the “Smart City” initiatives of which His Excellency Governor Hassan Ali Joho is the chairman of the Smart Cities and this has put in motion the need to have our own identity with consistent Urban building look and presentation that shall enhance the Mombasa County urban landscape and aim to present a painted world which in some ways resembles the world we live in.
Its visual complexity and constant state of flux and the act of painting is an attempt fix this information and give vision to our experience of living within it.
Mombasa being a coastal town and more associated with the Ocean and its summer climate throughout the year makes it ideal to have the color white as a coolant and blue to blend in with the Ocean.
