It is more trouble for Governor Ali Korane after reports emerged that he awarded a multi-billion tender to his close relative.
It is reported that Korane awarded a businessman who is also a member of his household the construction of a multi-billion county headquarters in Garissa town.
Disclosing the new developments, Abdullahi Buthul ,who is the representative of Sangailu ward, who spoke to this writer hinted that he was in the process of writing to the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) over the issue.
The MCA alleges that the businessman is the governor's in-law, an issue that would automatically disqualify him from winning a tender with the county government.
If the MCA makes good upon his threats, then it will be a tragedy for the governor who already has a number of graft cases pending coupled with another criminal case involving the shooting of a former finance CEC Idris Mukhtar.
It is now a matter of time before the whole issue unearths.
Recently, Korane was sent away by a Senate committee probing a graft case in his county over lack of proper documentation.
