A member of parliament from the North Eastern region has cut short his trip to India following allegations of gross violations of human rights in his constituency allegedly perpetrated by KDF officers in ongoing military operations.
Mandera South MP Adan Haji Ali on Wednesday landed in Elwak to address the issue that is now threatening to get out of hand.
On Tuesday, residents from Dabasity and Kutulo areas aired their concerns on how the KDF officers were treating their youths and men.
Most of the locals who fell victims had numerous injuries on their backs, with some even unable to walk as a result of bodily injuries sustained.
Even as the blame game continues, the government has remained mum on the issue, a fact that forced Adan to cut short his official trip to India.
And as the situation continues to worsen, a number of people, mostly young boys and men, are fleeing the affected areas for fear of more torture from the military officers involved in the security operation.
