Mr. Odinga, who has repeatedly denied enjoying government protection was attending state funeral of former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.

"I am not in government. We only decided to partner with the president to solve certain issues. Only a fool cannot change tact," he has said before.

During a BBC interview last month, Uhuru dispelled speculation that Raila is enjoying special treatment.

"Nobody is getting some positions created. Our decision to work together is anchored in development partnership."

But in Ghana, a man wearing military attires would be spotted everywhere Raila went.

This includes welcoming him to Annan's final resting place and during main funeral service.

After the funeral, the 'aide-de-camp' would lead Mr. Odinga to President Nana Addo and Alassane Oattara of Ivory coast.

Only Heads of States are given such treatment while in official visits.
