Tea growers from Magombo in Nyamira County have threatened to strip naked and protested over delayed payment.
The farmers led by Nyaboke Mochere and Charles Mosomi on Saturday stormed Nyamira Tea Sacco offices to demand their payment in vain.
"Tea Sacco officials have been giving us deaf ears every time we demand our payment. We will not continue suffering because they have our money which should be released to us. As tea growers we will strip naked and demonstrate in public to push Tea Sacco to pay us," said Nyaboke.
According to Nyaboke, tea farmers didn't celebrate Christmas because there was no money to buy clothes and food.
"We need to pay school fees for our children but, Tea Sacco has no plans to pay us money. On Monday if there will be no money businsess will not be as usual," she added.
Mosomi regretted registered in the Sacco saying once he gets his money he will not continue being a member.
"I'm not interested to continue being a member. All I want is may money by Monday or else I will join my colleagues to strip naked and protest in public," he stated.
