The family of retired president Daniel Moi and Kenyans continue to mourn the passing on of Jonathan Moi who was the first born son of the former head of state.

Jonathan who was best known for his prowess and love for safari rally racing succumbed to cancer on Saturday. 

A section of legislators from Uasin Gishu have sent their condolence messages to Moi’s family, friends and Kenyans who are mourning the death of Jonathan Moi.

While describing the late Jonathan Moi, Kapseret legislator Oscar Sudi said, "I wish to express my sympathies and hearty condolences to the family of Rtd President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi over the untimely demise of his eldest son Jonathan Moi. J.T has been a kind family man and also a good friend of mine. He will be greatly remembered as a stunning Safari Rally driver during his heydays, the event was common especially on Easter holidays. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during such difficult moments.”

Kesses MP Swarup Mishra said, "Sad to learn about at sudden demise of Jonathan Toroitich, son of former President Moi. Have know Jonathan  as an enthusiastic, astute philanthropist and accomplished rally driver.On my own behalf and on behalf of my great people of Kesses, I want to officially send my heartfelt condolences to the family of Moi.”
