Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo received an email from a young lady asking for his help to join Kenya forces.
The flamboyant politician who is known for helping needy people, was touched by this mail and posted it on his twitter account.
He wrote: “I just got this mail.”
“Hello Sir, Kabogo. My name is Ruth Wangari Njuguna. 23 years of age and I'm from Thika. I cleared high school 5 years ago and my passion has forever been joining forces; Kenya police. For the past 4 years I’ve tried and even after qualifying, I don’t get the chance since “I know no one.” Kindly, if there’s somewhere you can help by finding slots/chances, I’d really appreciate if you can consider me. When does one need to know someone & when will merit work??” posted Kabogo.
In the mail, Ruth decries lack of fairness in selecting recruits to join the forces.
She alluded recruits are picked depending on whether they know those involved and not on merit.
Kabogo tagged President Uhuru Kenyatta in his tweet on the plight of the girl.
Recently, he admitted a needy student at Mangu High School who asked for his help through the radio.
