Machakos County Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has lauded the doctors behind the successful brain surgery in Machakos level five hospital.
Speaking on Friday through Facebook, Mutua said he was so delighted by the health professionals' achievement.
"I am delighted to announce that today Machakos level 5 hospital has conducted it's first-ever brained surgery on 52-year-old, Mr Henry Mutinda," he said
"I congratulate the able team that has made this surgery a success," he added
According to the county boss, the team of doctors led by surgeon Dr Sam Njiru and Machakos level five superintended Dr Alvin Wachira expressed optimism of a full recovery for the patient.
He went ahead note that the surgery was in the right direction for all his residents and that his county, in terms of health matters will launch a free cancer centre in two months time and 15 community hospitals which will be operational by next week.
"My government remains committed to quality Health care by ensuring patients do not share since 2013, modern theatres, Intensive care units and an amazing maternity wing where our mothers shower with warm water," he said.
He revealed that his government has set aside Kshs 542 million for renovations and purchase of hospital equipment.
