Residents of Tente village in Nyamira County were on Tuesday left in rude shock after a man abandoned his wife and allegedly defiled his 12-year-old daughter.
Confirming the incident, Nyamira OCPD Lilis Wasila said the suspect only identified as David lured the minor into a bedroom where he sleeps with his wife and defiled her.
"The minor's mother was outside when the suspect called her into the bedroom where he undressed her and raped her before she screamed due to pain," said Wasila.
The OCPD said the minor's mother stormed the house where she busted her husband doing the heinous act to the minor.
"The suspect's wife raised alarm to attract neighbours who arrived to witness the incident. Angry locals beat up the man before they surrendered him to authorities," added Wasila.
The OCPD said the suspect who was arrested and locked up at Nyamira police station will be arraigned in court on Thursday to be charged with defilement.
He warned men against defiling underage girls saying the law will not spare sex predators at all.
According to the OCPD, the suspect, if found guilty, will be sent to jail to serve as an example to other men.
