Kabogo on Tuesday paid a courtesy call to Joho in Mombasa, where they used the opportunity to discuss several matters of national interest.

This caught the attention of Twitter users, some of whom questioned Kabogo's association with the opposition figure.

However, in response, the outspoken leader hit back, telling his critics to take their protests to the police.

He also slammed his critics on Facebook, taking time to respond to individual comments.

The main issues of discussion in the meeting, according to Joho, were matters of national unity and nation building.

"My brother William Kabogo paid me a courtesy call to discuss matters of National Interest in particular Nation Building and National Unity," Joho tweeted.

The two leaders hail from different sides of the political divide, with Kabogo largely considered an ally of the ruling Jubilee Party.

Joho, on the other hand, is the deputy party leader of the opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party and a close ally of opposition chief and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The two leaders have since hinted at running for the presidency in the 2022 polls, but are both yet to officially launch their bids.
