An elected MP allied to ODM party has asked Kisii County boss James Ongwae to fight corruption which is at the peak in his government.
Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati claimed that there is no tangible development in Kisii County because the county has been misusing the billions of shillings sent from the National Government.
"Devolution governance has not benefited Kisii residents. Governor Ongwae should wake up and fight rampant corruption in his administration for the sake of implementing the various development projects across the county," he noted.
The Gusii community spokesman reiterated that the County government receives over Sh5 billion from national government but, Ongwae and his allies have been embezzling the funds.
"We know the people who are stealing public funds but, the county boss is doing nothing. It is high time Mr. Ongwae to ensure corrupt officials in his administration are arrested to face prosecution in a court of law," he added.
He appealed to county MCAs not to sleep on their job.
"MCAs must work around the clock to boost the livelihoods of people in their respective wards," said Arati.
