Kenya Power and Lightning Company in Kisii has finally set up a new transformer at Nyambera in Kisii Town after Hivi Sasa Coverage on Monday.
On Monday, Nyambera residents decried three-week blackout and pleaded with KPLC to act on the matter.
"Yes they came here yesterday, Spent the whole day and set up a new bigger transformer. They said it will be activated today and we hope by the end of the day we will have power in this area," said David Ondari.
Speaking to Hivi Sasa on Phone, the KPLC manager for the Kisii region, Mr Guda apologized to residents and promised such will never happen again in the near future.
"Thank you for the information please I honestly apologize on behalf of the company to the people of Nyambera for any inconveniences caused. We have immedietly taken up the issue," He said
Guda also added that; "we (KPLC) have set a new transformer bigger than the previous one to avoid overloading. My team will activate the transformer today (Thursday) and such will never happen again in the near future," assured Guda.
The residents on Monday accused Kenya Power of neglecting them for close to three weeks leading to increased crime in the area, Traders incurring loses were among other many issues they raised.
