Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo on Friday held talks with Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Education Dr Kevit Desai at his offices in Nairobi.
In a statement after the meeting, the lawmaker said that he called on Dr Desai to present his constituents' gratefulness for the ongoing construction of two colleges in the area.
The parliamentarian said that the visit was also a follow up on Mahaya and Nyakongo Technical Training Institutes (TTI) which are expected to serve his people in the constituency.
"I called on the Principal Secretary of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Dr Kevit Desai to express gratitude of the people of Rarieda for the Mahaya and Nyakongo TTI, and to review progress and possibilities for optimal functioning of the institutions upon completion," he said.
"Much thanks to Dr Desai for courtesy and dedication to duty," he added in a Facebook statement.
This comes at a time when the Jubilee government has been calling upon the youth who do not qualify to join secondary schools to embrace the institutions for self-reliance in their later days.
The government had also been pushing to ensure a 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary education institutions.
