A week after he dared Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) investigators to raid his home over alleged involvement in corruption, Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga is now happy with the anti-graft watchdog.

Speaking during the opening of the EACC outreach program in the county Monday, he took issue with the Eliud Wabukhala-led commission's implication of his leadership in corrupt dealings, vowing to defy its summons.

He added that the commission is free to investigate him as he has nothing to hide, adding that it should stop interfering and heaping blame on him, terming it a well timed plot to soil his legacy.

"I have nothing to hide because I am innocent," he was quoted by the Standard.

However, speaking during the close of the same function on Saturday, Rasanga lauded the commission for training his officials, saying that the same will go a long way in fighting the menace.

He said that the commission is free to investigate any county official thought to be involved in graft, inviting it to go all out in examining the county government and its staff.

"Prevention is better than cure and we support fully the training because it will help us evaluate ourselves in the fight against graft at the end of the year," he said.

Rasanga also called for unity, noting that the menace needs joint effort to be crushed.
