The Ethics And Anti Corruption Commission on Monday welcomed its new CEO Twalib Abdallah Mbarak.
Twalib's swearing-in at the Supreme court of Kenya was conducted by the Chief Justice David Kenani Maraga. He takes over from Halaqe Wakho who served the commission whose tenure ended on Friday.
Twalib takes over the mantle when the country is facing high times in the war against corruption by top state officers and an array of cases pending in court.
He has warned those engaging in corruption, affirming that he will not tolerate them.
"Corrupt persons thrive on volatility. They exploit it for personal gain. I am committed to make corruption a high-risk venture in our beloved country. Kenya will be an inhospitable place for corrupt individuals," committed Twalib.
He called for the creation of an effective working relationship with the office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP), the media and the public.
Twalib has served in different cadres of public service including being a Top Military Intelligence officer in the Defense Forces.
His appointment now gives light and strength to the DCI boss George Kinoti and DPP Noordin Hajji on the war against corruption malpractices in the country.
Corrupt individuals now have been put on the red alert since Kenyans will now have hope and believe convictions will be seen as the top ranking officers are people of highest integrity and repute in public service.
