The senator took to social media to thank the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader for the honor.

Sakaja and Raila were political foes before the latter made a U-turn after losing to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto in the famous handshake.

The senator said he attended the national rugby tournament before leaving for his son’s birthday.

“Congratulations to our National rugby team The Simbas for thrashing Tunisia 67-0 today in the World Cup qualifier series. Thank you Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga for gracing today’s game and later joining me at home in wishing my son Tangai a happy birthday. #MunguMbele,” said Sakaja

Sakaja and Raila have met on several occasions after the handshake.

In July, Sakaja warned a section of leaders against undermining President Uhuru following his reunion with Raila.

He said that the unity of the two leaders is good for the nation.

“The directives of the president as the leader of the Jubilee Party must be respected by members of the Party, especially those in leadership. We must solidly support his plans and initiatives and any issues arising from these should be dealt with internally,” he said in the Friday statement.
