Grief has struck a village in Central Kolwa, Kisumu County after the body of an 18-year old girl was found inside her boyfriend’s house.
Area Chief Eijah Otieno Omumbo was quoted by Citizen Digital confirming that the body which was discovered on Tuesday was already decomposing.
According to the Chief, they suspect that the girl who was a form three student at Nyalunya Mixed Secondary school was killed by her boyfriend, who is also in form three at the same school.
The girl’s body was moved to the Jaramogi Teaching and Refferal Hospital (JOOTRH) in Kisumu awaiting postmortem.
The suspect is also admitted at the same hospital after he allegedly tried to commit suicide following the incident.
This came even as Kisumu East OCPD Meshack Kiptum said that security has generally improved in the area and Kisumu County as whole.
Speaking in Kisumu on Tuesday, Kiptum said that collaboration with various stake holders had helped improve security.
“The collaboration between residents, media, community policing, and the administration has helped reduce insecurity in Kisumu,” said Kiptum.
He warned that crack down on incidences of insecurity will continue, insisting that all law breakers will be dealt with according to the law.
The OCPD warned that even police who engage in crime will be reached by the long arm of the law.
