Speaking on Friday, the vocal lawmaker added that the party is breaking into two factions, one rallying behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and the other behind Deputy President William Ruto.

The parliamentarian who has been more on the side of the DP acknowledged that Jubilee is in a critical condition, judging by the deep-rooted cracks that are openly manifesting themselves.

However, the remarks were rubbished by former Kisauni MP Ananiah Mwaboza, who maintained that the party remains united, adding that there are no cracks whatsoever.

He, however, noted that some known elements have been trying to weaken the party from within, led by former vice-chair David Murathe.

“As far as we are concerned, we don’t think that there are wrangles in the party. It is only a few elements who are known in Jubilee, like Mr Murathe, who are rocking the party from within,” Mwaboza told the Friday Nation.

On his side, Muranga Senator Irungu Kangata told politicians and the nation to prepare for a 'weaker' Uhuru once he exits power in 2022.

He stressed on the need for the Central Kenya region to get a new kingpin to negotiate for its people ahead of the 2022 polls, as Uhuru will no longer have the influence he currently enjoys.

“Your value as a leader is seen when you are taking your people to political heights. I insist that we lack a kingpin by now," said the lawmaker.

Uhuru is yet to speak on the unity status of the party.
