Karua, who has been very vocal on matters of national interest, termed the circumstances behind the arrest as shameful.

She shared the video of the woman representative arguing with the officer and captioned it shameful.

The arrest of the Women Rep came moments after she attended a security meeting with Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.

She was arrested for allegedly trying the incite Probox and Sienta car drivers in Nanyuki.

The police claimed that she had planned to disrupt a meeting attended by the CS at Mt Kenya Safari Park Hotel.

Waruguru was not happy after several cars were impounded and their drivers arrested.

She said that the police wanted to show the CS that they are working when in the real sense they are not doing so.

“The police want to show Matiang’i that they are working,” she claimed.

The woman rep had also attended another meeting where local leaders met former Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi.

During the incident, she said she was not afraid of being arrested for fighting for her people.
