Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has demanded an apology from Deputy President William Ruto over alleged hate speech towards the Luo community.
This follows a video doing rounds on social media where the DP says a certain community is known for destroying houses and railways.
It is the utterances that are believed to have been targeted towards the Luo community
In a post on his verified Facebook page, Miguna accused DP Ruto of peddling lies against the Luo community. He opined that the DP erroneously claimed that the community were he (Miguna) comes from was fond of vandalizing structures such as railway lines and destroying houses or any other property.
"William Ruto must publicly apologize for stating, falsely, that Luos uproot railways and destroy property," reads part of the post.
The former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga's advisor further claimed in the post that Ruto incited ODM supporters to uproot the Kenya-Uganda railway that was constructed by the colonial government when retired President Mwai Kibaki stole Raila's victory in 2007 elections.
"When the Kenya-Uganda railway line was uprooted in Kibera after Kibaki and Uhuru stole the 2007 election, Ruto was one of the ODM Pentagon members who led the protests," argued Miguna.
"We are not going to allow anyone - whether it is Ruto, Uhuru, Raila - whatever - to spread ethnic hatred and jingoistic propaganda," he added.
