The Mechanical Engineering student, who was shot after attempting to scale the walls of State House, is seen swaddled in hospital sheets while lying on a bed.

Secret cameras were used to take the video.

David Bera, who is the father of the student told K24 that his son had refused to eat hospital food on Wednesday.

He has requested the president to pardon his son as he was not in his right frame of mind when he climbed State House walls.

"Mimi namwomba rais amsamehe kwa maana ni mgonjwa. Leo sio kama jana, amekataa kukula (I am requesting the president to pardon him. He is today not like yesterday as he has refused to eat)" David Bera said.

The story of Brian Bera has gripped the country and continues to drive discussions on social media.

Some social media users have framed the shooting incident at State House as an expression of the moral outrage at the callous indifference of the ruling elite to the struggles of the common mwananchi.

State House is a high-security installation whose access is granted after prior security clearance.
