A man in Tigania East in Meru County has done the unimaginable by killing his son aged 12 years.
His eight-year-old daughter is also nursing serious injuries sustained when his father learnt that the two ate avocados from a neighbour's farm.
The man, Morris Kirema, who has since escaped gave his two children a thorough beating and kicks while slashing them with a machete where the boy succumbed to injuries.
Tigania East police boss has confirmed that the suspect escaped after the incident and they are looking for his whereabouts.
The neighbours told a local news station that the children stole avocados from a nearby farm where the owner had demanded compensation.
This made the killer father swear that he would harm the children after they returned from school.
The man is said to be an alcoholic which made him violent to his family.
The area chief confirmed that the body of the deceased was taken to Meru level 5 hospital.
