Justus Omondi was found guilty of robbing another man a pair of shoes worth Sh2500 and Sh400 in cash.

He carried the crime in gunpoint.

The case has been prosecuted since 2016 when the robbery occurred.

In a string of witnesses,  the prosecution convinced the court that Omondi was guilty.

During the hearing, the court was at one moment stunned by vivid narration of how the suspect injured his victim in the left eye, inserted dirty socks in his mouth before pointing a gun at him.

During a detailed ruling on Wednesday April 10, Kibera chief magistrate Joyce Gandani said the seven witnessed who were lined up by the prosecution had convinced the court beyond doubt that the suspect committed the robbery.

"Having analysed the witness submission against the accused, I hereby found the identity given to court links him to the crime. I also found his defence weak. I, therefore, send him to 20 years imprisonment. I confirm that this is the best punishment he deserves,”  Gandani said.
