Lawyer Miguna Miguna has said that the arrest of Nandi Governor Stephen Sang over the destruction of Kibwari tea estate is politically instigated.

In a tweet, Miguna said that the political stand of the county boss landed him in trouble. He said that arrest of the county boss by sleuths from the office of the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) was unlawful. 

The Self Proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) Leader also claimed that the persons who allegedly grabbed the land was benefiting from the same. He asked the police to investigate the matter before making arrest. 

The activist further said that the county boss has done wrong to be arrest in such a manner. He compared the situation the alleged destruction of his Runda home after he took part in the mock swearing in of the Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.

“The arrest of Nandi Governor Stephen Sang is politically-motivated. First, Sang destroyed less than 5m by 5m area of tea plants which were planted by a person who had grabbed the pierce of land from the public. 

"Sang has been charged with "malicious destruction of private property!"But the thief who has been profiting - illegally - from the land he stole has not been arrested,” he tweeted.
