A bodaboda rider died on spot on Monday evening following a fatal accident which occurred at Kebobora, Bokeira in Nyamira County.

Witnesses said the deceased identified as Vincent Bwari was on a high speed with a customer when the accident happened. 

"The rider was speeding with the client when he collided with an oncoming car head-on.Bwari died on spot while a customer  he was ferrying was rushed to Nyamira county hospital where he is fighting for his life," said Eunice Monchari. 

Another witness Kefah Orenge said the deceased also survived another accident in November last year. 

"Bwari could not listen to us when we used to tell him to stop over speeding. It is unfortunate we lost him due to speed riding," said Orenge.

According to Orenge, the car was not either damaged nor did the driver get injured. 

"The driver of the car sped off after the accident fearing attack by other riders," he noted.

Nyamira OCPD Lilis Wachira said riders should adhere to set road rules to avert unnecessary deaths," he said. 

Wachira police will continue apprehending careless motorists.
