Veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga has said that a referendum on the 2010 Constitution is long overdue, calling it an idea whose time had come.
Mr Odinga spoke Thursday during campaigns ahead of the Migori senatorial contest.
He railed against the position of those opposed to the referendum, saying that the Building Bridges team would traverse the country to seek the views of the Kenyan public.
"The Building Bridges taskforce will traverse the country to get the views of the Kenyan people. We intend to address the problems that we have been grappling with," he said.
Odinga's remarks are the latest in a series of views on the vexed issue of a referendum on the constitution that will seek to change the country's governance system.
Deputy President William Ruto has been against the idea of a referendum, saying that it would saddle the Kenyan public with unnecessary costs.
