In a span of one month, Kenya has lost three prominent persons namely Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, Governor Joyce Laboso and Kibra MP Kenneth Okoth to the disease. It is evident that we are living with people affected by the disease.

These individuals require attention all the time for them to remain strong.

Here are ways to help a loved one who is suffering from cancer.

1. Deliver foods

Delivering food is among the best thing you can do for a loved one who has been diagnosed with cancer. Make sure you deliver foods that will not do him or her more harm than good. Spend part of your income to purchase the patient food and then send it to them. Cancer patients need to maintain a healthy diet.

2. Offer childcare

Cancer patients with children find life unbearable. The children need care just like the patient. Ensure you support the children in different ways. Buying them clothes and paying part of their fees could be a great thing if the family is not well off.

3. Send him or her gifts

There are different ways to show cancer patients you really care about them. Sending the patients gifts is a clear sign of care. The patients will with no doubt feel special if they receive gifts from their loved ones.
