A 19-year-old woman from Nakuru is stranded in Meru after a man who sent her Sh1300 to travel from Nakuru to Meru changed his mind.
The woman, named withheld, said she met the man on social media before communication started which degenerated into an online love affair.
After communication for close to one year, the man reportedly sent her bus fare for the two to meet in Meru.
The woman, a mother of two, travelled to Meru and met her ‘lover’ but he reportedly changed his mind after learning that the 19-year-old had two kids.
He refused to take her to his house and instead checked into a local lodging where they spent the night.
“He told me that he was 28-years-old and single. On meeting him, he declined to take us to his house, which he claimed, was still wet since he had just mopped. I have also learned that he is an old man over 40 years and married,” the girl narrated.
The woman told residents that she travelled to Meru over the weekend and the man was angry after she refused to engage into sex when they checked into the lodging because ‘she feared diseases’.
“He declined to take a HIV test saying he believes in herbal medicine,” she said.
On Tuesday, traders at Kiutine market, where the two had reportedly spent a night in the said lodging, were angered by the man’s antics.
They stormed his home to demand that he pays the fare for the woman back to Nakuru.
“I am asking anyone to help me go back to Nakuru. We started chatting with this man when I was pregnant with my second child, I even told him so and he said he was okay with it I come,” the teary mother said.
After storming the home of the man, the angry residents carted away a bodaboda to the nearest police station where they want the man summoned.
