Speaking in Wajir County over the weekend during a fundraiser for Islamic institutions and anti-radicalisation programs, the leaders led by Majority Leader Aden Duale promised to rally the Somali community to vote for Ruto in 2022.

"One thing that I want to promise you is that we will stand with you the way you've stood with us," Ijara Member of Parliament Sophia Abdi Noor pledged.

"We know that you will be our president in 2022 Inshallah. Let those who want to talk to talk but we want to promise you that we are firmly behind you. We are your foot soldiers and we will defend you, "Garissa Woman Rep Anab Subow said. (Sic)

The leaders also promised to remain in the Jubilee Party ahead of the 2022 election.

"We are in Jubilee to stay. We are not going anywhere because it is Jubilee that has put us into positions of power. Who is saying Jubilee is bad? Anyone who thinks Jubilee is bad should leave the party in peace," Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi said.

The deputy president appears to be working towards locking the North Eastern region ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.
