This follows Rasanga’s new attempt to reduce ward allocation supplementary budget to Sh10 million from the current Sh30 million.

Rasanga has since announced plans to used the funds to put up legacy projects, a move the lawmakers have vowed to shoot down once tabled.

Led by Central Alego ward representative  Leonard Oriaro and his Yimbo East counterpart Francis Otiato, the members have maintained that the changes must only be undertaken after  public participation.

“No MCA who went to his people and identified projects to the tune of Sh30 million will agree to have the money cut.

"This is a process that has moved on and we are at the county fiscal strategic paper stage and the law is very clear that once it has been passed, that is the guideline,” Otiato is quoted by the Standard.

Among the projects set to be funded using the resources is the tarmacking of Roads in Bondo and Gem sub-counties.

But in his defence, the Governor says that he personally allocated the MCAs the additional funds and has the rights to recall them.

“I need an opportunity to leave a legacy. I am the one who gave the MCAs the Sh30 million for the past five years but now I am taking it back and I want all that money to be used in putting up legacy projects,” he is quoted.

The Governor needs a sum of Sh900 million to realize his ambition.
