Here are some of the reactions:

According to Eldoret’s twerk queen and criminology student, Faith Dora who was also present during the incident, the man was unable to control himself after the allegations. She felt sorry for Ivy and the family and advised ladies to know their partners well.

“I feel sorry for the girl and family but yet again I am sad if it is true she infected the guy with HIV, maybe he could not take it and he did that because of anger,” Dora said.

Stacie Ruto, a Computer Science student felt that the incident was so horrific that it has installed fear adding that relationships are no longer safe and Ivy did not deserve to die.

“Ivy’s murder makes me feel unsafe as a woman. I am terrified and every time a man passes by I feel uneasy. Relationships are not safe spaces anymore, not even with the guy who swears to die for me. She did not deserve to die,” said Ruto.
