The family of the late Administration Police officer and rugby player Vincent Kemboi has come out to question the mysterious situation which was reported to have led to the death of their son.
Kemboi's body was found in the morgue at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret town on Wednesday, about two months after his disappearance.
The AP stationed at Utawala, Nairobi, is said to have been involved in a grisly road accident in Eldoret, that led to his death.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, his father Andrew Kimeto said that official reports from his place of work indicate that Kemboi left Utawala where he worked in Nairobi on November 28, 2018, yet it has been reported that he was involved in the accident on November 24, 2018.
Also, Kimeto questioned why his death was revealed two months later yet he had his identification documents including an NHIF insurance card and have never been used to identify him and notify the family within a couple of months.
"Our son died in a road accident while in a PSV (Public Service Vehicle) in November, we are told his body was identified through his NHIF card just yesterday (Tuesday)…then we asked ‘where were his documents all this time?’ That’s just negligence if not something else,” Kimeto was quoted by Citizen Digital.
Colleagues at the Administration Police and Kenyans continue to send their messages of condolence to the family and friends of the 24-year-old police officer who was also a great rugby player.
