CS Rotich was among other leaders who accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House in Mombasa on Thursday to make an announcement on the price of maize.

President Kenyatta during the announcement directed the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) to open its depots and buy maize from farmers across the country at Sh2,500 per bag instead of Sh2,300.

“The Strategic Food Reserve has been authorized to purchase two million, 90kg bags of maize at Sh2,500 per bag. Following various Government interventions and the good weather experienced in 2018, we have had a bumper harvest to the tune of 46 million bags,” he said.

Kenyans online however did not care about the new price of maize and were quick to troll CS Rotich after the President shared the photos on his Facebook account.

Kenyans made fun of Rotich’s trouser with some 'questioning if the trouser was to be used as a sack to pack the maize'.
