Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has warned men against chasing young girls for love and sex.
Nyagarama while speaking at Rigoma during the Jamhuri Day celebrations said men impregnating young girls should be sent to jail.
"I stand here today very frustrated because some men have been impregnating school girls. I am warning such men and call upon police officers to ensure sex predators are sent to jail," he noted.
The Governor regretted that men engaging in illicit sex with young are bringing shame to other men in the society.
He urged parents to be on high alert to ensure men engaging in sex with young girls are reported to authorities.
"Police and local chiefs must arrest sex predators. As governor, I am not going to allow the lives of young girls to be ruined by men who have turned to be hyenas," he stated.
Nyagarama wished Nyamira residents happy Christmas celebrations saying police will tighten security across the county.
"I have no doubt, police will curb any crime which may arise during the Christmas celebrations. My people should not worry," he added.
