Controversial Kenyan singer Willy Paul has spoken for the first time since his new song 'Lamba Nyonyo' was released.
It has been criticised heavily by various quarters from the entertainment industry and beyond.
Apart from Kenyans on social media, other celebrities who have openly criticized the song include; radio presenter Jalang'o, gospel artiste Ringtone, hip hop artiste Octopizzo among others.
Jalang'o who was working as Willy Paul's official MC resigned shortly after the release of the song.
The 'Shado Mado' singer, nonetheless, took to his Instagram page on Friday where he explained that he was evolving in terms of music, therefore, some of the songs that he will produce may not please everyone.
"I'm grateful for the love and support over the years. I am evolving into a new phase of my life. Some of the music I make now may not fit in with your view of me, and may not resonate with you but know always that I am doing my best to be true to myself.," wrote the singer on Instagram.
He further appreciated his fans for the far they have supported him.
"If the music no longer works for you, I love you and thank you for getting me this far. If the music works for you, stay on the journey with me, it's about to be lit'," Willy's Instagram post read.
