Residents of Soin Sub Location in Sachangwan, Nakuru County have expressed fears after area chief Robert Keter allegedly turned against them, going on a stabbing spree.
Keter is said to have stabbed eight people in the past six weeks, the latest case being that of Richard Cheruiyot who was allegedly stabbed last Friday for spilling the chief's beer.
He says that the chief reached out for a penknife and stabbed him in the hands after he shook the table, spilling his beer at a local drinking joint.
“Just when I had taken a seat, the table shook and some beer spilt from his bottle. He got angry, took a beer bottle and tried hitting me with it, but he missed. He then reached out to his pocket and drew a pen knife and stabbed me twice on the hands,” Cheruiyot told Daily Nation.
This follows similar complains from five other people, including one Julius Sang' who, just like Cheruiyot, reported the case at the Sachangwan Police Station, and now says that he has lost his hearing ability.
The residents now want the administrator interdicted, with others claiming that he has also been demanding for sexual favours in exchange for services.
“In a span of two months, he has stabbed eight people. He has assaulted several others and there are women who have complained of sexual harassment. He demands sexual favours before offering services,” said Sam Koech, a local.
Reached for his comments by Daily Nation on the claims, the chief denied the allegations, saying that those with evidence against him can move to court.
