Fresh details have emerged on slain student Sharon Otieno's mysterious murder after family members directly implicated Migori Governor Okoth Obado into the drama.
Already, DCI George Kinoti has deployed a team of special investigation team that is leading the probe into the murder that has elicited emotions on social media.
Her mother, Melida Auma along with the father, Douglas Otieno, claimed that Obado had asked the lady to abort his pregnancy thus leading to the standoff between the duo.
"She told us about her pregnancy and the person behind it. I told her not to abort because it could result in many complications," Melida said.
But having advised her against abortion because she was seven months pregnant allegedly for the governor, Sharon started getting threats from the boyfriend governor making her to change phone contacts.
"I asked her why she frequently changed mobile lines and she told me she was being threatened because she had refused to abort the pregnancy,” she added.
But Mr. Obado, through his communication secretary Nicholas Anyuor, dismissed the allegations adding that the family could not prove the claims.
"They can’t prove the pregnancy belonged to the governor," he said adding that even if the PA, Michael Oyamo participated in the abduction, the governor should not be dragged to the fiasco.
She had been abducted along with Nation journalist Barack Oduor who would however escape from a speeding vehicle allegedly belonging to Oyamo.
