Ongwae said this on Monday during the official launch of Ukulima Sacco, Kisii branch, which marks the entry of another financial institution in the county.

Ongwae in his speech asked Saccos to be transparent and portray accountability as they are dealing with resources offered by the public.

"Ladies and gentlemen I expect Saccos to espouse the practice of transparency and accountability because you are taking care of resources that belong to mwananchi. Whatever public servants give you, it is their hard earned money. So, please, take good care of these resources," said Ongwae.

"Ensure that you have workshops and seminars where you teach people not only on how to take the loans but also teach them how to use the money they take as loans," he added.

According to the governor, the Sacco will serve other counties including Nyamira, Homa Bay, Migori, Narok, and Bomet.

The Kisii Governor urged his constituents to take advantage of the new Sacco in town and get more knowledge on how to manage their finances as well as save.
