Governor Alfred Mutua has supported calls for expansion of the executive arm of government.
Mutua says that expanding the executive will ensure inclusivity and also address discontent that often arises after every presidential election in the country.
Speaking on Monday at the Machakos people Park where inter-county games are ongoing, the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) governor said inclusivity will ensure unity among all the tribes in the country.
“We must now discuss and chart way forward on possibility of expanding out executive to have all Kenyans on board on matters governance,” the former Kalonzo Musyoka ally said.
Governor Mutua said that the country is sharply divided after the October 26 repeat presidential election.
The governor urged adding that president Uhuru Kenyatta must hit the road running and bring Kenyans together.
There have been calls to have expansion of the executive by introduction of Prime Minister (PM) position.
The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) had earlier proposed introduction of PM position and two deputies.
A section of Jubilee politicians have however rubbished the proposal claiming that it is ploy force creation of coalition government with NASA.
Jubilee says that there is no basis for creation of prime minister position and that the opposition should accept that Uhuru is the legitimate elected president.
The Supreme Court on Monday upheld Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election and he will be sworn in for a second term on Tuesday next week.
