Three candidates from Boys Town High School alleged to have cheated in the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations were on Tuesday arraigned in a Garissa court to answer charges over cheating allegations.
The trio, who appeared before the Garissa Senior Residents Magistrate Mr James Masiga, was charged with being in possession of prohibited materials within an exam room prior to Mathematics paper 2.
Two of the arrested candidates pleaded not guilty to the filed charges and were released on a KSh 50,000 bond with a cash bail of Ksh 50000 or a surety of similar amount.
The hearing of the case has been set for February 12, 2019.
However, the investigating officers requested the court to allow them to detain one of the students Wednesday to help them conclude their probe into the cheating allegations.
The three are among the five candidates that Education CS Amina Mohammed, on Monday, revealed that they had been discontinued from taking the remaining papers.
