In a social media statement, blogger Alai directly linked Uhuru to the many challenges threatening to sink the national broadcaster Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).

The fiery Alai questioned the grounds that KBC afforded to donate a cool Sh12 million to the Beyond Zero half marathon while it's staff were grappling with perennial remuneration issues.

"Broke KBC which can’t pay salaries or pension to its staff and retirees gave Uhuru’s wife Ksh12 million. That’s what corruption is. Uhuru is the face of corruption in Kenya. #BeyondZeroCorruption" Alai tweeted.

This is not the first time the city based blogger is faulting the head of state on matters corruption.

The sentiments were also echoed by activist Boniface Mwangi who claimed President Kenyatta forced corporate companies to enrol for the course to make it happen.

"Corporates were also forced to sign up staff members for #BeyondZeroMarathon. @FirstLadyKenya realised the Marathon will flop and she used @UKenyatta to ensure corporate companies benefiting from government tenders donated millions & signed up staff to run. #BeyondZeroCorruption," the activist posted.

State House is yet to respond to the allegations threatening to down the First Lady's campaign.
