Former Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Bondo Diocese Bishop Johannes Otieno Angela is expected to be arraigned in a court on Monday, July 1, 2018.
Angela was arrested on Friday evening after being accused of defiling a 14-year-old girl.
Reports indicate that the girl was reportedly defiled while staying at the Bishop’s home in Majiwa village, North Sakwa location, Siaya County.
She was reportedly put under the Bishop’s care and protection for the sake of a property probe.
The standard eight pupil is said to have reported the incident at a local children’s home, after which a medical check-up was conducted, and confirmed that she had been defiled.
The arrest of Johannes Angela was confirmed by North Sakwa Chief Osborn Omolo.
The 66-year-old Bishop retired last year after serving at the Bondo Diocese for 17 years.
