Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has asserted that Deputy President William Ruto confirmed Kieleweke's claims that Mt Kenya does not owe him any political debt.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Wambugu argued that Kieleweke movement was conceived as a result of his position that the people of the region owe no politician, including the DP, any political debt. :
"Kieleweke actually started when I said that Mt Kenya has no political debt with DP Ruto," reads part of the post.
The first time lawmaker disclosed that days, after he conceptualized Kieleweke ideology and movement, leaders allied to the DP, attacked him verbally, referring to him as a betrayer.
Wambungu further disclosed how Ruto's loyalists used to convene fundraising meetings in Nyeri in order to bash him for attempting to cause divisions within Jubilee.
"My statement was so shocking some ‘tukunias’ who had been going around the country talking of how Mt Kenya would pay Dr William Ruto ‘a debt’ in 2022 nearly literally killed me. They then started inviting themselves to ‘harambees’ in Nyeri Town to insult me," remarked the MP.
He acknowledged Ruto's latest claims over the same issue while noting that his group's position had been vindicated from blame by their counterparts in 'Tangatanga',as he termed the developments as progress.
