Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has condoled with the family of Ali Juma Mwasaa. Joho has said that the family, and Mombasa County at large, are being faced with a dark and difficult period.
Mwasaa died in Cuba earlier this week. It was alleged that doctor Juma, brother to Likoni Member of Parliament Mishi Mboko, took his own life by committing suicide.
The governor visited the deceased family on Thursday morning where he expressed his heartfelt condolences.
The county boss also promised to stand with the family during this hard time.
"Today I visited the family of the late Dr. Ali Juma Mwasaa, who passed on in Cuba to condole with them. It is a dark and difficult period for all of us in Mombasa and the Country to loose such a young promising Doctor. We stand with the family, relatives, and friends during this time as we wait for the arrival of the body for final rites and burial," shared Joho
Mwasa was among the 50 doctors from Kenya who went to Cuba in an exchange program which also saw Cuban doctors visit Kenya. He was taking his masters' degree in Family Medicine and was expected to graduate in two years' time.
Arrangements to fly his body back into the country are going on.
