Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has finally made it clear that he will be in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
On Sunday, the former Deputy Prime Minister took his campaigns to Deputy President William Ruto’s doorstep in Rift Valley.
Mudavadi sought to turn tables on Ruto who appears to be enjoying the majority of support in the region.
He urged the Kalenjin community to repay the favor of the support his Luhya community gave retired President Daniel Moi throughout his 24-year-rule.
“I am pleading with members of the Kalenjin community to return the favour by rallying behind my 2022 presidential bid for the support my community gave retired President Moi during his 24 years rein,” he was quoted by the Mediamax Network.
Mudavadi was speaking at Nyaru Trading Center in Elgeyo Marakwet County, where he explained that he will give equal attention to all Kenyans once in power and should not, therefore, be feared.
“Let members of the Kalenjin community not fear my leadership, as I will protect the property of everybody including that of retired president Moi once I ascend to the country’s top seat,” he added.
He was flanged by area Deputy Governor Winsley Rotich, Lurambi lawmaker Titus Khamala, his Keiyo South counterpart Titus Rono and Alfred Agoi (Sabatia).
