Former Gem lawmaker Jakoyo Midiwo has once again doubted Deputy President William Ruto's presidential eligibility, saying that his 2022 bid remains weak.
Speaking on NTV's AM Live on Tuesday, the former National Assembly Deputy Minority Whip noted that the DP risks not making it despite being close to the top post, alleging that he has used his stay at the seat to fulfil personal goals instead of Kenyans'.
He cautioned Ruto against banking on his current position, saying that he is likely to fall to other candidates who are still not committed on succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta.
''Ruto is only relevant because he is several steps of other leaders who are currently lazy. He went into politics to make money and i really doubt that he will be President in 2022,'' said Midiwo.
He further expressed his suspicion over the former Eldoret North lawmaker's character, noting that he will be one of the biggest victims should Uhuru's initial lifestyle audit proposal realize.
According to the opposition leader Raila Odinga's cousin, Ruto will be completely destroyed after a close look is taken into his lifestyle, saying that he will be reduced to a 'common Kenyan'.
''Once we conduct the audit on him, Ruto will be reduced to just another Kenyan,'' said Jakoyo.
